WSOP 2008 Day 33 Updates

Event #50, the $10,000 World Championship Pot Limit Omaha event was won by Marty Smyth, who took the bracelet and $859,532. Second place went to Peter Jetten, worth $528,257. Overnight chipleader Michael Mizrachi took down thrid.

Event #51, a $1500 H.O.R.S.E. event was won by James Schaaf, who took the bracelet and first place money worth $256,412. Taking second place, worth $158,933, was Tommy Hang. Phil Hellmuth ended up taking thrid!

Event #52, a $1500 No Limit Texas Holdem event is down to the final table, with play set to resume today at 2PM. The players are:

Matthew Matros - 1,447,000
Jeffery Courtney - 1,430,000
David Daneshgar - 1,070,000
Voitto Rintala - 553,000
Daniel Heimiller - 545,000
Scott Sitron -503,000

Event #53, a $1500 Limit Texas Holdem Shootout drew 813 players, and they played down to 72 when play halted for the night. Play will resume today at 2PM to determine the final table. After an hour break, the play will begin to determine the champion.

Today, there is a $5000 Ante Up for Africa charity at 3PM, and a media event, as things are set to conclude prior to tomorrow's start of the main event.

The Main event begins day 1 tomorrow at Noon. The only other event scheduled , is the annual Casino Employee No Limit Texas Holdem event which will start Next Monday.
