Today, the $1500 No Limit Texas Holdem Poker event kicks off the tournament! It will be interesting to see how may entries there are for this event. Last year there were over 2K.

I'm pretty geeked about this year's WSOP, and will keep you up to date with all the event results and happenings....

Getting up to date here.....

I have been playing quite a bit again online at a couple of different poker rooms. I've played quite a bit at PokerStars.com, because I like their 180 man $20 buy-in tournament. Unfortunately, I have not had much luck in it lately. I've been making it down to 30 players and then getting knocked out just before the money ( they pay 18 places ), which has been somewhat discouraging.

I decided to go back to playing at Bugsy's place. I started out playing a lot there when I first played online poker for money. I really like the intereface there, and while there are not as many players, the PLAY is MUCH better than at most poker rooms! There are FAR less idiots there and the play is much more consistant AND friendlier! The only problem there, is that there is not as many players, so it's a little harder to find a game. Tournaments are not as big as other online poker rooms either, averaging in the 50 player area during the day.

All this play put a bug in me for some live play, so I went last night and played with the group from the club in a $60 game. I was up and down all night, but played pretty consistantly, and on an even keel. I made it to the final 7 ( had 18 players ) but, as usual, I was short stacked. I started getting cards though, and went on a heater of sorts finding myself chip leader in no time. I ended up chopping with another guy when we were heads up. It was a lot of fun, and went a long way to spark my interest in the game!
